Healing Meditation

The more I am studying healing, and the innate ability to heal, the more I am learning that healing our inner being – the essence of who we are – is essential. And the mind-body connection is probably the most powerful medicine there is.

Here is a simple meditation I created to help you on your healing journey. It’s easy enough to learn. Don’t worry about the specific words I’ve used, just focus on your breath to get you in a relaxed frame of mind, then visualize divine light entering your body and bathing it in healing energy.

“Begin by closing your eyes, getting rid of all distractions. Keep your eyes closed until I tell you to open them again. Now, sit quietly for a moment. Focus on your breath.

Breathe deeply. In and out. Don’t just fill up your lungs, bring that breath right down into your belly. Breathe at your own pace, slowing down with each breath.

Now, imagine yourself sitting in a beam of light. The light is pouring down from the heavens. It is divine light and it is surrounding you. You are breathing it in. It is entering inside your body through your pores. Breathe in that light. Breathe it in deeply. Visualize it bathing your whole body in light, inside and out. Your heart. Your mind. Your arms and hands. Your chest. Your belly. Your pelvis. Your legs and feet. Sit with this for awhile. Bring that breath into all your organs and bring it to all the places in your body that need healing. Feel it permeating every cell of your being.

Now, bring that light into your soul. Beyond all the physical. Let it wash away any pain, any negative thoughts, any fears, any emotional wounds. Feel it lightening up your being, the essence of who you are. And if those emotions form tears as they leave your body, let them. 

Embrace all of who you are, for you are beautiful. You are whole. You are loved. It is well with your soul.

You may open your eyes, now. Be at peace.”
